EXPATS
ARE YOU AN EXPAT PREPARING TO MOVE TO, ALREADY LIVING OR RETURNING FROM OVERSEAS?
Are you having difficulties adjusting or have old issues resurfaced? Modern technology now makes it possible to have access to help in your native language with someone who understands your cultural perspective.

Issues adjusting to a new culture or way of living can create stress, anxiety and depression. And when our stress levels go up, our ability to manage difficulties in life decreases. These are common issues for expats preparing to move overseas, living and working abroad, or returning home after living abroad. Moving to or returning from overseas is a major life adjustment process, and can lead to a variety of symptoms that make life feel harder. Sometimes, the adjustment can act as a trigger that resurfaces old personal problems that have laid dormant for years. Facing such issues can help one feel more secure and allow one to adjust with more ease.

My clients have found it extremely helpful to speak to an expert who is familiar with the problems faced by expats. When overseas, in some communities, you may find a therapist from your home country. This is a wonderful option for many, but I have found that some individuals prefer the privacy of working with someone completely outside of their expat community. Because we are using online therapy, you are not going to run into me at an expat gathering.

I offer therapy online through secure (HIPAA compliant) video which can be accessed by you either on a computer or through a smart phone. All you need is internet access, giving you the option of where and how best to speak with me. For questions regarding how online therapy works, click here

Disclaimer
Because it is important.

I have a license to practice therapy in the state of New Jersey in the United States. This license is issued for that jurisdiction only. At this time, there is no internationally recognized license to practice therapy. Different locations around the world and different states in the United States have their own regulations; some have no regulations. I do work to learn and follow any regulations that may apply in the locations where my clients reside. But, this means I am unable to and do not refer to myself as a therapist when working with clients who live abroad or outside of those jurisdictions where I am licensed. In these cases, I am using all my experience to work with you as a coach. I am happy to discuss this during a consultation should this be a concern.
